TNB Spotlights Kathy

Who is Kathy and what does she do at TNB?

1 What do you like most about teaching classes at TNB?

The energy from the members is outstanding as they challenge themselves and improve their fitness!

2 If you could describe TNB in one word, what would it be?

             TEAM

3 What is an accomplishment you've had with a client/ member regarding improved health/fitness or decreased Body fat?

As a personal trainer and group fitness instructor I have had many students lose body fat, but more importantly I have seen my clients improve their
quality of life and they have a renewed appreciation of what they can achieve physically which translates into their ability to attempt new challenges in their athletic pursuits and also on a personal level, in school and in their careers. Transformation comes from the renewing of the body and the mind!

4 What will people expect from you at your classes?

My specialty is functional training and HIIT. High Intensity Interval Training!  I believe in making your body the machine and creating innovative and FUN workouts.

5 What makes TNB different from other clubs?
I have worked in large clubs, community centers, etc.,  There is a sense of belonging and inclusiveness to all that runs through TNB. People are unique and each one brings something special to the studio every time they come through the door whether it is their first time or not.

6 If you could teach any other class what would it be?
I am certified in EVERLAST boxing and would love to bring out everyone's Oscar De La Hoya!  Boxers are some of the fittest athletes out there!

7 What are your strengths and how do those strengths affect your teaching style?
Motivation, love of people, encouragement, love of fitness, sense of humor transparency and tenacity!  I prepare for each class individually and spend a great deal of time researching in order to educate clients, and in turn they see the reasons for what they do. I like to create a fun and challenging environment and encourage people to press on towards the goal!

8 What is your ultimate culinary weakness?
In Canada there is a coffee shop called Tim Horton's owned by a famous Canadian hockey player that was killed in a car accident.  Every time  I go home, I order a large double, double and a Canadian Maple Dip doughnut! YUM!!  You have to come to my class to find out what a large double, double is!

Kathy teaches  Boot Camp at TNB on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:15AM  and Indoor Cycle on Fridays at 5:15AM. Kathy is also a personal fitness trainer for hire.

Stay fit at TNB!
