Friday Night Lights

Well, this was my first full week back in the swing of things regarding this upcoming football season. With TNB off the ground and going well it's is time to sharpen my coaching skills as we come to another football season. It is very special to play a football game under the lights on a Friday night. For all those who have played the game you know what I mean. There's a sense of energy and emotion that you just don't get anywhere else. Well let me retract that. One can get the feeling when they get married, have kids, and of course win the lottery. But that's about it. Unless I missed something LMK.

Playing under the lights with a big crowd of supporters cheering you on is something that I wish could last forever. However, for some of us we might play two or three seasons of varsity football and it's over. Yep that's it over and done with.

I and many coaches get to experience this special feeling over and over again but this time it's as a coach so it's not the same but very close. I hope that all the young men who play football on Friday night really enjoy the feeling and the experience. Good luck to all teams and may everyone stay injury free.

Phil

Almost a Century

Well, today started out at 6:00AM and I knew my riding buddy Matt aka Magic Matt aka Mr. Big Ride and I were going to have a long day in the saddle. We decided to ride from our house. Matt is my neighbor. We rode  to the 605 beach trail down to PCH and over to the Santa Ana Beach Trail and through Carbon Cannon and then home. Matt pulled me most of the way and I thank him for that. When it was Carbon Cannon time he bolted like a mountain lion up every climb. I barley made it through and suffered all the way home once I drug myself out of the cannon. We totaled 95miles and it was just what I needed to end what could be my long summer rides. TNB is picking up and football season is around the corner and time sometimes is never on my side. So if this was my last long summer ride so be it because I'm done. Let me find a couch!

Called in Sick?

Did you ever think about calling in sick to watch the Tour De France? According to bicycling.com 83% said NO and 17% said yes.

In this day and age I think the better question would be: do you watch the Tour De France while you are at work?

I would have to answer yes to this.

Dad and Son

Today after my 6:00AM class I took my son to the park and we rode and did some physical fitness training. It's his first year in tackle football and he needs some extra training. The best part of the workout was the end as he climbed the last hill before we reach the car.

As we made our way home I thought a Juice it Up drink would taste great and it did!

Indoor Cycle

Today indoor cycle class was great. I'm looking forward to spending time with my family at lunch today. I'm thinking of staying local and trying out Blue Fire Grill in Chino.

Hey Folks,

This past week at TNB we offered Boot camp and Extreme Cycle classes for free. I can tell that the members really loved the classes. Nice job to Stacey our Bootcamp and Cycle instructor!
